                                                                          Pastor’s Thoughts

                                  Relationship, Righteous, and Reward:

These are the words that have been given to me this year for 2010.  As I look back over 2009, and see how God has tremendously blessed us, I can’t help but give God all the glory and honor.  If you have listened to the news on the radio, television or the internet you have constantly heard that we were living in hard (scarce) times, but yet in 2009 not only did I, but Faith Chapel continued to live in the “abundance of God’s grace”.  The church didn’t lose faith—it gained faith, we didn’t decrease our services—we increased our services, we didn’t lose members—we gained members (18), we didn’t lose in attendance—we gained in attendance, and we didn’t lose in tithes and offerings—we saw an increase.  Can anyone say, “favor”?

What a mighty God we serve…while the world has stated there is a shortage, we have experienced that in God’s Kingdom there is still a surplus.  The Lord has blessed our worship services with His presence and we have been a witness to people being saved, restored, delivered, and healed.  The Lord has graciously allowed us to carry out the work He has planned for us to do.  We went into the prisons this year and rendered services to those incarcerated, gave food, fellowship and assistance to those that were in need, gave services to those in the nursing homes and youth centers, gave clothing and served food at the homeless shelter, provided and gave out clothes during community outreach, and evangelized to over one thousand people this year.

We saw changes this year in the world and witnessed history in the swearing in of our first African-American President, but we have also witnessed how “God is changing lives at the Chapel.” There have been so many people (visitors & members) that have told me how much they have been blessed through our worship services and revivals, and this is an indication to me that we must stay true to Him.  I want to thank the Ministers, Deacons, Deaconess, Mothers, Ministry Leaders and the entire church for your work, prayers and support you have given to this ministry and to me.  We need each other to fulfill the vision and destiny God has for us.  It is my prayers that we will continue to serve Him in unity.

As I close this letter, I want to remind you of what I started this letter off with, Relationship, Righteous, and Reward.  Matthew 6:33 tells us to seek God first…this is what we will focus on this year in 2010 and we will watch how God adds all the things that we need and/or desire…

In His Service,

Pastor Randy Barr, Sr.
